Nameless, gender unknown, animal or monster? Mysterious, slightly magical, and irresistibly cute PlayU characters and the logo.
“We are characters. We have no names.” — This isn’t the famous opening line from Natsume Sōseki’s I Am a Cat, but rather an introduction to the characters of AEDI’s sub-brand, PlayU. PlayU is a small brand launched in 2010, dedicated to character design, art, graphics, and related works such as design and animation. When the brand was first established, these characters were created alongside the PlayU logo. Having once been featured in an online magazine in the UK, these characters still remain nameless. Until now, they’ve simply been known as “the PlayU characters.” For convenience, we’ve decided to temporarily name them One, Two, and Three. Their gender is unknown, and it’s unclear whether they are animals or monsters—but we hope they’ll gradually become familiar and loved by everyone.
