Transforming 2D character graphics into 3D with a 3D character animation using the latest AI technology.

We transformed our 2D character graphics, “Number Heart,” originally created in Illustrator, into 3D using the latest AI technology. The tool we used is Nano Banana Pro (Gemini 3 Pro Image), integrated into Gemini 3, which is also available through Adobe Firefly. As a result, most of the images on this page were generated via Firefly. This project was initially undertaken to test the capabilities of the newly released Nano Banana Pro. However, the quality of the generated 3D graphics exceeded our expectations, so we decided to feature it as a work. The images included here show four views of the character holding a flag (front, back, left, and right), four views of the character without a flag (front, back, left, and right), and the original 2D “Number Heart” graphics. Even with the same prompt, the generated 3D characters vary, and additional variations are available in our blog post. We encourage you to explore the project background and other interesting images generated during this experiment.
