Ramen Ichiraku Multilingual Website Design

We were responsible for the website design of Ramen Ichiraku, a ramen restaurant located in Helsinki, Finland, operated by the Finnish company Momada Oy. This project focused exclusively on website design and did not include development or implementation. The website was designed as a primarily single-page experience, with Finnish, English, and Japanese versions. Our scope included responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile, as well as mobile navigation menus for tablet and smartphone views. We also handled the English-to-Japanese translation. From a design perspective, our goal was to combine the traditional visual atmosphere of a Japanese ramen restaurant menu with the simplicity and minimalism often associated with Finnish design, while adding a subtle touch of playfulness. Thanks to the client's warm personality, communication throughout the project—conducted entirely in English—was smooth and pleasant, and the entire process, from initial contact and agreement to design production and final delivery, progressed efficiently. That said, our work on this project stayed within the design phase. This experience reminded us of how important it is to approach website projects as a complete process, encompassing both design and development, in order to fully realize the intended user experience and visual details. If the opportunity arises in the future, we would be delighted to offer a complete website production service that includes both design and coding. This project deepened our connection to Finland and gave us an even greater appreciation for the country and its culture. And of course, when we finally visit Finland, Ramen Ichiraku will be at the top of our list.
