Shozo Karato
Designer | Born in Kurashiki, Okayama, Japan
Shozo Karato developed a passion for rugby in high school, which led him to study abroad in New Zealand for rugby training during university. After graduation, he played for Sanix for four years. Following his long-standing love for drawing, he moved to Australia to pursue a career in design. He studied Applied Design/Multimedia at Douglas Mawson Institute of Technology and Tea Tree Gully TAFE (both later merged into TAFE SA) while working as a freelance web and graphic designer. After returning to Japan, he worked as an art director at Read-Net Corporation In 2008, he founded AEDI Inc. in Shinjuku, Tokyo. In November 2014, he relocated the company’s base of operations from Tokyo to Kurashiki, Okayama, where he continues his work today.
